One of the founding members of the seminal Scottish folk band Ossian, Tony Cuffe has lived in the Boston area for many years. He is about to return to his native Scotland to live, and this will be one of his final U.S. concerts before the move. Catch this extraordinary guitarist, harpist, tin-whistle player and singer of Scottish traditional songs before his New England appearances become rarer.
As it turned out, sadly, this was one of Tony's final concerts. The day before the concert, Tony told me that he would not be returning to Scotland, but would instead begin treatment for cancer. He survived barely long enough to attend two benefit concerts in his behalf held at Boston College in late November of 2001.
