Claire Keville plays concertina and hosts a radio show of traditional Irish music, called Music In The Glen on Clare FM. Listen in live on Mondays from 2 to 4 PM Eastern Time or an archived version without the commercials any time during the subsequent week at www.clarefm.ie. She has a trio CD out with John Weir on fiddle and Eithne ni Dhonaile on harp, but it seems she has no copies left to sell on this tour, so if want to buy it, you may need to hunt for a retailer who still has some copies. She will be selling a remarkable CD of fiddle music by her youngest sister Breda. Claire can be heard playing fiddle on one track and concertina on another on Breda's album. There's another fiddler on one track and guitar on three tracks, but mostly it's unaccompanied fiddle in a style that you don't hear much these days, epitomized by Bobby Casey, Junior Crehan, Paddy Canny, Paddy Fahy, and Patrick Kelly. Claire, originally from Headford, Co. Galway, now living in Clare, herself, is greatly influenced by this older generation of fiddlers, as is Pat O'Connor.
Pat plays fiddle and lives in the small village of Feakle, in East Clare, which is Martin Hayes' hometown. Pat is heavily influenced by Martin's father, P. Joe Hayes, as well as Paddy Canny, Francie Donnellan, and Andrew and Mary MacNamara.
There are video clips of both Claire and Pat at http://www.custysmusic.com/mall/CustysTraditionalMusicShop/in_session.htm though it seems a little tricky getting them to play, at least on Macs. I managed by opening http://www.custysvideo.com/video/claire_keville_lo_res.mpg or http://www.custysvideo.com/video/claire_keville_hi_res.mpg and http://www.custysmusic.com/mall/CustysTraditionalMusicShop/video/pat_o_connor_lo_res.mpg or http://www.custysmusic.com/mall/CustysTraditionalMusicShop/video/pat_o_connor_hi_res.mpg within Quicktime.
